Manager Transfer News

Ahead of a busy 2023/24 footballing season is an even busier transfer window, with more movement in the managerial market than ever before. Chelsea wave a controversial goodbye to their short serving head coach Mauricio Pochettino, as they introduce the 44 year old former Manchester City Academy coach, Enzo Maresca. Maresca will be parting ways with newly promoted side Leicester City as he makes his move to west London. He will be replaced at Leicester by Steve Cooper, former Nottingham Forest Coach, and signs on a three year deal which is valid until June 2027. As of 15th August, Pochettino now moves on to manage the USA men's national team, and will take them to World Cup 2026.

Former Burnley manager Vincent Kompany takes the next big step in his coaching career after a disappointing relegation back to the championship with the clarets. Kompany replaces Thomas Tuchel at Bayern Munich, with the latter of the two failing to win Bayern's twelfth Bundesliga title- falling short to unbeaten Bayer Leverkusen and VfB Stuttgart. 

Two time UEFA Champions League winner Jose Mourinho ends his 5 month unemployment drought after signing a two year deal with Turkish giants Fenerbahce- following their unsuccessful League campaign falling short of the winners Galatasaray by just three points. Mourinho unveiled his announcement to the fans at the Sukru Saracoglu on 2nd June, with his deal valid until June 2026.

Antonio Conte is hungry for a fifth Serie A title, following his return, this time with Napoli on a deal valid until June 2027. The Italian has been without a job since he was sacked by Tottenham Hotspur in March 2023.

Thiago Motta has signed a deal with Juventus on the 11th June, valid until June 2027. He replaces Massimiliano Allegri.

Former Roma head coach Paulo Fonseca leaves Lille and returns to Italy, as he will be the new AC Milan manager after signing a 2 year deal valid until 2026; with the option to extend a year. He replaces Stefano Pioli who now becomes a free agent.

Roberto de Zerbi leaves Brighton and signs a three year deal with Olympic Marseille which will be valid until June 2027. He will be replaced at Brighton by Fabian Hurzeler; who signs to become the youngest manager in the history of the Premier League.

On the 16th July, England men's national team announce that after 102 games and almost 8 years in charge, Gareth Southgate leaves his role as manager of the Three Lions. He is set to be replaced by a new interim manager in Lee Carsley, assistant manager of Southgate. Carsley will most likely be accompanied by backroom staff and England legend Ashley Cole.

Nuri Sahin signs a three year deal with Champions League finalists Borussia Dortmund, replacing Edin Terzic.

Simone Inzaghi signs a new deal which keeps him at Inter Milan until 2026 after winning the Serie A, two Coppa Italia and three Super Cups. The deal is worth €6.5 million per year, with a €2 million bonus if he wins Serie A once more.

Marcello Gallardo has accepted to return to River Plate as coach until December 2025, leaving Al Ittihad after just 8 months. He will be replaced by Laurent Blanc, 4 time Ligue Un winning manager with Paris Saint Germain and Bordeux.

After reaching the European Championship final, Thierry Henry has decided to step down from his role as U21 France coach. This decision is said to have come from 'personal reasons' and Henry concludes that he is 'incredibly grateful to the federation the payers, the staff and the supporters who allowed me to live a magical experience'.
